This Subscription Policy explains how Cognitivus subscriptions (“Subscriptions”) work: trials, billing, automatic renewal, cancellation and price changes. It forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Use and Refund Policy.
1. Trials
Where we offer a free or paid trial, the trial length, the trial price and the price and billing interval of the Subscription that follows are shown on the pricing page and on the payment screen before you pay, and are repeated in the confirmation email we send you.
If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your trial automatically converts into a paid Subscription and you are charged the Subscription price shown at checkout, for the billing period shown at checkout. We recommend cancelling at least twenty-four (24) hours before the trial ends so the cancellation is processed in time.
2. Automatic Renewal
Your Subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorise us and our payment processor to charge the recurring fee to your payment method on each renewal date, together with any applicable taxes, until you cancel. A receipt is emailed to you after each charge.
3. Payment Method and Failed Payments
Fees are charged to the payment method you provide at the time of purchase. You are responsible for keeping your payment details valid and up to date.
If a payment fails, your Subscription is not cancelled by that failure alone. During the recovery period that follows, and to the extent permitted by applicable law, we may:
- retry the charge on your payment method, for up to thirty (30) days after the failed payment;
- keep your Subscription and your access to the Service active while we do so; and
- offer you a temporary reduced renewal price or other promotional price to help the payment go through.
If the payment still cannot be collected at the end of the recovery period, we may suspend or cancel your Subscription. A failed payment does not cancel amounts that were validly due for a period during which you had access to the Service, and those amounts remain payable, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
If you do not want to continue, cancel your Subscription as described in section 4: we then stop all further attempts to charge you.
4. How to Cancel
You can cancel your Subscription at any time, in any of these ways:
- from your account, under Settings → Billing;
- without signing in, from our cancellation page, which is also linked in every receipt email; or
- by emailing [email protected] from the address on your account.
Cancelling switches off automatic renewal. You keep access to your paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again. We recommend cancelling at least twenty-four (24) hours before your renewal date so the cancellation is processed in time. A confirmation is sent by email.
5. Refunds
Cancelling a Subscription stops future charges from the date the cancellation takes effect. It does not affect fees already charged or validly authorised before that date, which are not refunded by the cancellation itself. Refunds, including our 30-day Money-Back Guarantee, are handled in accordance with our Refund Policy and applicable law.
6. Right of Withdrawal (EU, EEA and UK)
If you live in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you can withdraw from your trial or Subscription within fourteen (14) days of your first purchase. Because you ask for access to start straight away, if you withdraw we refund what you paid minus a proportionate amount for the days already provided. How to withdraw, and a model withdrawal form, are set out in section 4 of our Refund Policy.
7. Price Changes
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we may change Subscription prices from time to time. We will give you reasonable notice of any price change, and any change applies only to billing periods after it takes effect. If you do not wish to pay the new price, you can cancel before the change takes effect.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Subscription Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date and, where required by law, we will notify you.
